Wortell, a Dutch Microsoft specialist IT organization, faced a challenge where the growing complexity of its Vidara Managed Detection and Response (MDR) software required excessive developer time for infrastructure management. This over-reliance on specialized expertise for handling cloud resource SDKs and inter-service communication was directly impacting the team's ability to develop new features.

To solve this, they implemented Dapr from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). By leveraging Dapr’s sidecar architecture and its .NET SDK APIs for pub/sub and service invocation, the team offloaded infrastructure complexity to the Dapr runtime. The CNCF solution enabled Wortell to remove numerous software packages and a significant amount of code from their microservices, freeing developers to focus on higher-value business features.
