Implementing Zero Trust Security with Cilium

WSO2, a software company, faced challenges implementing robust observability and a zero-trust security model for its internal developer platform, Choreo. They needed a solution to secure multi-tenant customer workloads, encrypt network traffic, and provide deep observability across applications written in various programming languages without being overly resource-intensive.

The Cloud Native Computing Foundation's Cilium provided the solution. WSO2 migrated its clusters to Cilium, using its network policies for zero-trust security and IPsec for traffic encryption. They integrated Hubble for observability. This allowed WSO2 to securely onboard customers faster by guaranteeing data isolation and protection in their shared cloud environment, directly impacting business growth.
