How Kubernetes is enabling the edtech solution’s global expansion

Prowise, a Dutch company that produces educational devices and software used around the world, faced challenges with versioning and flexible scaling as it grew. Its Linux service-based infrastructure struggled to support multiple products, each with their own versions and development teams. The company sought a solution to future-proof its infrastructure and consolidate everything onto a single platform without resistance. They worked with the Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem and adopted Microsoft Azure's managed Kubernetes service, AKS, for orchestration.

By implementing a solution from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem, Prowise moved to containerization and Kubernetes. This enabled the team to go from quarterly releases to deploying new features into production nearly every hour. Deployment time was reduced from an hour of combined preparation and execution to just a few seconds. The company also gained the ability to push bug fixes to production minutes after detection, all with zero downtime.
