A Swiss online marketplace, ricardo.ch, was facing challenges with development velocity and a significant divide between its Development and Operations teams. To address this, they partnered with the Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem and adopted Kubernetes for container orchestration as part of their shift to a microservices architecture.

By implementing a solution centered on Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Fluentd from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, ricardo.ch dramatically improved team collaboration and efficiency. The results were substantial: deployment frequency increased from fewer than 10 per week to between 30 and 60 per day, while deployment time was reduced from weeks to seconds. This new cloud-native approach also fostered DevOps harmony and is expected to deliver 50% in cost savings.
