Building a Resilient Payments Platform with Cilium

Form3, a UK-based financial technology company, needed to build a resilient payments platform capable of switching between data centers with zero downtime to meet strict compliance requirements. Their challenge was to connect multiple Kubernetes clusters to create a unified database and message broker for their high-availability infrastructure. To solve this, they turned to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation project Cilium.

By implementing Cilium’s Cluster Mesh, Form3 successfully connected their on-premise and multi-cloud Kubernetes clusters across AWS, GCP, and Azure. This solution provided the required zero-downtime resiliency, enhanced security through Cilium network policies, and simplified operations with a consistent CNI across all environments. The Cloud Native Computing Foundation’s technology was crucial in helping Form3 securely move billions of packets and secure hundreds of workloads, ultimately allowing them to meet their business and regulatory objectives.
