Building a Multi-Kubernetes Management Platform on Clusterpedia

China Mobile Cloud, a major telecommunications provider, faced significant challenges in managing its hundreds of large-scale Kubernetes clusters following its cloud native transformation. They required a tool to efficiently manage and retrieve resources across all of these clusters simultaneously, a process that was previously manual and time-consuming. They turned to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation project Clusterpedia for a solution.

By implementing Clusterpedia from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, China Mobile Cloud established a unified multi-cluster management platform. This solution provided powerful search capabilities and full compatibility with different Kubernetes versions, eliminating the need for engineers to manually switch between clusters. The results were substantial, including a 60% improvement in multi-cluster resource retrieval efficiency and a 50% reduction in operation and maintenance time for engineers.
