Case Study: Box accelerates microservice deployment with Kubernetes from CNCF

A Cloud Native Computing Foundation Case Study

Preview of the Box Case Study

Box An early adopter envisions a new cloud platform

Box, an enterprise content management company, faced the challenge of running its workload across many different cloud infrastructures, including bare metal and public cloud, due to their very different interfaces. This antiquated infrastructure was hindering global expansion, taking over six months to deploy a new microservice. The vendor, Cloud Native Computing Foundation, provided a solution through its Kubernetes container orchestration product.

The Cloud Native Computing Foundation's solution allowed Box to target a universal set of concepts portable across all clouds. As a result, the deployment cycle for a new microservice was reduced from over six months to less than five days, with a goal of reaching one hour. This provided an immediate uptick in productivity and releases for Box's developers.
