Bose Supporting rapid development for millions of IoT products with Kubernetes

Bose, a household name in high-quality audio equipment, faced a challenge in scaling its infrastructure to support the rapid growth of its connected IoT products. They needed a mechanism to allow developers to prototype and deploy services to production quickly. To stay ahead of product group demands, Bose partnered with the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and sought a modern platform solution.

Leveraging CNCF technologies like Kubernetes, Prometheus, Fluentd, CoreDNS, Jaeger, and OpenTracing, Bose built a scalable IoT Platform-as-a-Service on AWS. This solution from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation enabled massive scale, with the platform supporting 3 million connected products at launch. The results were dramatic, with 1,250+ production deployments in 2018 and a new service going from concept to production in under 2.5 weeks.
