India’s largest private electricity distributing company, an Energy & Utilities leader serving 2.9 million consumers in India, used IoT-enabled electric meters to collect around 90 parameters every 15 minutes. However, its existing Oracle SuperCluster-based processing workflow had limited storage, required data deletion after processing, and caused reporting delays that could run into hours. Cloud Kinetics was brought in to address these bottlenecks.

Cloud Kinetics moved the local storage layer to Amazon S3 and automated the movement of processed data into Amazon Redshift, while preserving data in S3 for reprocessing if errors occurred. The solution kept the ETL process intact, improved resiliency, enabled faster report generation through direct warehouse access, and supported recovery from failed runs. As a result, the customer achieved up to a 50% improvement in report loading time, along with automatic data transfer and better decision-making for business users.
