Volkswagen Group Drives Multi-Cloud App Strategy with Cloud Foundry

Volkswagen Group turned to Cloud Foundry as it shifted from being a car manufacturer to a global mobility and digital services provider. The company needed a faster, more agile way to develop applications for connected cars and support a worldwide, multi-cloud environment across public cloud and on-premise infrastructure.

Using VMware’s commercial Cloud Foundry platform on top of an OpenStack-based cloud, Volkswagen built a global cloud application platform with CI/CD capabilities. Cloud Foundry helped the company move workloads between providers, keep data flexible and secure, and migrate its first application from public cloud to private on-premise cloud in about three weeks, going live on time and on budget.
