Liberty Mutual Global Specialty, part of Liberty Mutual Insurance, needed to modernize its workflows and software delivery to stay competitive in a rapidly changing insurance market. Working with Cloud Foundry, the team set out to build an underwriting portal in Australia within six months while also creating a minimum viable product quickly and shifting to a more cloud-native, agile development approach.

Using VMware Cloud Foundry along with AngularJS 2.0 and Spring Boot, Cloud Foundry helped Liberty Mutual automate deployments and establish a CI/CD environment with fast, nearly effortless releases. The team delivered the MVP in just 28 days and completed the fully functional portal within the six-month target, while also meeting goals to move 60% of the workload to cloud infrastructure and have 75% of staff writing code.
