Case Study: Hertz transforms IT and speeds application delivery with Cloud Foundry

A Cloud Foundry Case Study

Preview of the Hertz Case Study

Hertz - Customer Case Study

Hertz, one of the world’s largest car rental companies, needed to modernize an aging IT environment and move from a monolithic, on-premise waterfall approach to a cloud-first, DevOps-oriented development model. To support that transformation, Hertz turned to Cloud Foundry and IBM Bluemix, the Cloud Foundry-based platform-as-a-service used to help the company build a more open, flexible application platform.

With Cloud Foundry, Hertz is shifting to microservices, continuous delivery, and portable application development that can scale more granularly and release features faster. The new platform is expected to improve customer experience with capabilities like online rental extensions and faster vehicle pickup, while eventually moving Hertz.com and other brand sites onto the new architecture.
