Azure solution helps children’s hospice generate vital new revenue from software

Children’s hospice Shooting Star Chase needed to develop a new care database system to increase its own efficiency and generate vital new revenue by selling it to other hospices. Their initial plan to build the service on an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model was not commercially viable. Cloud Direct helped them overcome this challenge with a solution built on Microsoft Azure.

Cloud Direct implemented a flexible and scalable Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution in Azure, which provided a 10 to 1 cost saving on SQL Server alone. This allowed Shooting Star Chase to successfully launch The Care Database. The solution has increased efficiency for care staff and, as a result, the service is now used by eight other hospices, generating new investible revenue that is put back into improving care.
