Case Study: Spoon University achieves low-cost multi-cloud deployment with Cloud 66

A Cloud 66 Case Study

Spoon University + Cloud 66 creating an online food resource for Gen Z

Spoon University, the Gen Z-focused online food and lifestyle resource, needed a way to simplify container deployments across multiple IaaS providers while managing backups and making better use of unused cloud credits. With Cloud 66, the team sought a more automated, lower-friction way to operate its distributed architecture, which includes Ruby on Rails, WordPress, Docker, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.

Cloud 66 helped Spoon University standardize deployments across multiple cloud providers, clone stacks, manage import/backup data, and automatically build Docker containers from GitHub using BuildGrid, while also simplifying SSL setup with Let’s Encrypt. As a result, Spoon University says it was able to reduce infrastructure costs to nearly zero by leveraging available cloud credits, and developers can now deploy new code without dealing directly with provider APIs.
