Techstars, the global startup accelerator behind products like Techstars Connect and Techstars.com, needed a more cost-effective way to manage its growing application infrastructure. As its Rails-based stack expanded on Heroku, the team faced rising costs, performance issues, and limited database access, which made debugging and maintenance harder for a small development team.

Techstars migrated its apps and API to Cloud 66 for Rails, moving databases and services in stages with minimal disruption. Cloud 66 gave the team more control, easier team access, GitHub integration, and built-in load balancing, while cutting monthly infrastructure costs from about $500 to under $200 and reducing downtime during migration to less than an hour.
