BillFront, a fintech platform that provides liquidity solutions to the digital industry, needed a simple way to manage a growing mix of Rails and non-Rails services without dedicating a full DevOps team to infrastructure. As the engineering team expanded from one developer and satellite services became more demanding, they turned to Cloud 66 and Docker to make development and production environments easier to manage.

Cloud 66 helped BillFront run containers in production with Docker Compose, BuildGrid, backups, replication, ActiveProtect, and support for custom networking and Nginx configurations. The result was a faster, more repeatable workflow: services could be deployed from a Dockerfile with a few clicks, new developers could spin up projects with one command, and support even enabled direct port forwarding for special cases like Riemann. BillFront also reported a pain-free path toward migrating its main Rails app to Docker, with no measurable metrics shared but clear gains in speed, flexibility, and operational simplicity.
