Amplion Inc. is a biopharma data intelligence startup that helps pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and life sciences companies make better clinical and product development decisions by aggregating hard-to-find biomarker data from many non-normalized sources. Its challenge was organizing this information into meaningful, clinically relevant insights while keeping the growing Rails-based platform manageable and cost-effective.

Using Cloud 66, Amplion deployed and managed its Rails web app and API on DigitalOcean and later prepared to move to AWS, while also scaling supporting services like Redis, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and asynchronous jobs infrastructure. Cloud 66 gave Amplion PaaS-like simplicity with cloud portability, easier scaling during compute-heavy data updates, and faster infrastructure changes; the company also cited support and documentation as strong benefits. Amplion reported that biomarker-driven trial planning can contribute to better outcomes, and in a Bio publication it co-authored, trials using selection biomarkers showed a 3-fold increase in approvals.
