Kaiser Permanente - Customer Case Study

Kaiser Permanente set a corporate goal of carbon neutrality and needed to cut facility energy use across its national healthcare portfolio. To find and fix inefficient equipment it deployed fault detection and diagnostic (FDD) software from Clockworks Analytics (the KGS Clockworks FDD tool) beginning with a four‑site pilot to analyze building automation system data and surface energy, maintenance, and comfort issues.

Clockworks Analytics’ FDD was rolled out to dozens of sites—expanding to roughly 69 buildings (about 7 million sq ft) and monitoring over 100,000 BAS points—where it delivered rapid payback (pilot repaid in under six months), averaged 12% energy savings at seven locations, and identified $694,927 in avoidable costs. Kaiser Permanente completed 218 FDD‑driven tasks (with $79,928 in avoided costs recorded to date), tracked impacts in Power BI, reduced heating and electric use, and now requires at least a year of FDD on new projects—demonstrating measurable energy, maintenance, and comfort improvements driven by Clockworks Analytics.
