ISS Facilities Services, managing Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) sites, faced the challenge of reducing energy use and improving maintenance efficiency across a large, mixed portfolio. To scale fault detection and diagnostics (FDD) beyond an initial pilot and deliver strong ROI, ISS selected Clockworks Analytics and its KGS Clockworks FDD software to map BAS points and monitor HVAC equipment continuously.

Clockworks Analytics deployed the FDD solution configured to HPE’s control strategies, running diagnostics at five‑minute intervals to flag scheduling errors, simultaneous heating/cooling, broken valves and sensors, and to recommend operational changes like VFDs and reset controls. The work covered about 2 million sq ft across 15 buildings (5 sites), produced a reported 9% energy savings at one site, yielded projects with typical paybacks under two years (some chillers saving ≈$35,000/year), and reduced hot/cold calls while improving maintenance efficiency.
