Siemens SiGREEN shipped AI-powered product carbon footprint estimation feature in 6 weeks with Climatiq

Siemens SiGREEN, a platform from Siemens, faced the challenge of making product carbon footprint (PCF) estimation accessible. Their users struggled with the complex, time-consuming task of manually sourcing and mapping emission factors, a process requiring deep expertise that many companies lack. To simplify this and help users scale their calculations, the SiGREEN team turned to vendor Climatiq and its Autopilot service for a solution.

By integrating Climatiq Autopilot, an AI-powered emission factor mapping engine, Siemens SiGREEN developed its AI Emission Estimator feature. The solution automated the matching of component data to relevant emission factors, making PCF creation faster and more intuitive. The feature was prototyped and launched in less than six weeks. A key result was that Climatiq's emission factor matching proved to be three times faster than the average industry LCA tool, providing users with rapid, accurate, and reporting-ready carbon estimates.
