A Clickworker Case Study
The Online Survey Company needed a fast, low-cost way to recruit 145 German participants aged 18–99 for a psychology study on attentional control, using a survey with photo categorization and anagram tasks. The challenge was to gather responses quickly while minimizing effort and avoiding the “examiner effect”; Clickworker and its self-service marketplace were used to source the participants.
Clickworker enabled the university to launch the survey through an external survey tool and invite a targeted pool of Clickworkers who matched the required demographics. The result was 145 completed questionnaires gathered in about 1 day instead of the planned 2 weeks, at a net cost of €406, with safeguards to prevent multiple submissions and a high response rate.
