Scaling SaaS security Reco’s migration from Postgres to ClickHouse Cloud

Reco, an AI-driven SaaS security platform, needed a database that could keep up with its rapidly growing scale. As the company ingested 10–12 billion raw JSON events each week and handled tens of billions of reads and writes per day, Postgres started to hit its limits for real-time analytics, schema changes, and large-scale background processing. Reco chose ClickHouse Cloud to replace most of its Postgres workload while supporting security use cases across more than 215 integrations and 60,000+ discoverable applications.

With ClickHouse, Reco consolidated on a single source of truth and used features like materialized views, ReplacingMergeTree/CollapsingMergeTree, compute-compute separation, data-skipping indexes, and EmbeddedRocksDB for streaming state. The result was a major performance and cost improvement: more than 90% of Reco’s workload moved off Postgres, costs went down, speed went up, and resource requirements for some distributed operations dropped by a third.
