Case Study: Azur Games migrates 120 TB with zero downtime using ClickHouse Cloud

A ClickHouse Case Study

Preview of the Azur Games Case Study

Migrating to ClickHouse Cloud in just three months with no downtime: A 120 terabyte data journey and its benefits

Azur Games, a top mobile game publisher with massive telemetry volumes, needed a large-scale infrastructure overhaul as its existing on-prem setup had become hard to maintain and risky to operate. The company had been using ClickHouse for years and evaluated ClickHouse Cloud on AWS to modernize analytics for its 120 TB database without downtime.

ClickHouse implemented a full duplication, verification, and atomic switchover migration to ClickHouse Cloud, using AWS PrivateLink, S3 storage, and Zero Copy Replication. The move was completed in about three months with no downtime, improved reliability and scalability, kept total costs comparable, and freed up significant engineering time, including about 60% of one administrator’s time and 40% of one ETL engineer’s time.
