How QuickCheck uses ClickHouse to bring banking to the Unbanked

QuickCheck, a fast-growing fintech startup in Lagos, Nigeria, set out to provide financial services to underserved consumers in a country where millions of adults are excluded from banking and credit. As the company’s mobile app grew to more than 2 million downloads and millions of loan applications, it needed a way to analyze large volumes of loan, fraud, and operational data far faster than its existing Postgres setup could handle. It turned to ClickHouse for analytics and dashboarding.

QuickCheck uses ClickHouse to load hundreds of thousands of rows daily, analyze loan histories, monitor portfolio risk, power operational dashboards, and support fraud scoring models. With ClickHouse, analyses that could time out in Postgres now finish in less than 5 seconds, and more than 50 employees rely on ClickHouse-powered dashboards for daily work. The company says ClickHouse “just runs,” giving it the speed and scale needed for OLAP workloads.
