A ClickHouse Case Study
Artly, a Seattle-based startup building autonomous robotic baristas, needed a better way to manage the growing stream of telemetry, operational, and sales data coming from its expanding fleet. Its earlier Elasticsearch/Kibana setup worked for basic reporting, but it struggled with complex queries, joins, and flexible analysis as the business scaled across retail locations, partnerships, and pop-ups.
Artly chose ClickHouse Cloud for a faster, more flexible, and low-maintenance analytics layer, with AWS Glue moving data from DynamoDB to S3 and then into ClickHouse, and Grafana for dashboards. With ClickHouse, the team can join tables, run nested queries, and analyze customer behavior, promotions, and store performance more easily; Artly reported the platform to be 3.5x faster and 2.5x cheaper than other OLAP options, while requiring no extra maintenance after setup.
