Braze, the multi-channel customer engagement platform, needed a faster and more reliable way to power real-time campaign analytics at massive scale. Its previous dual-pipeline setup used MongoDB for campaign reporting and a separate cloud data platform for raw event storage, creating latency, operational overhead, and data mismatches as Braze processed over 3.9 trillion messages and billions of events per hour.
Braze rebuilt the pipeline with ClickHouse Cloud, streaming data from Kafka into raw tables and using materialized views to aggregate metrics in real time. With ClickHouse, Braze simplified its architecture, eliminated much custom processing, and cut a campaign comparison report from more than 8 seconds to under 1 second, while improving consistency and scalability for future analytics and observability use cases.
