ClickHouse Cloud Gumlet’s key to processing billions of video and image requests daily

Gumlet, a video and image hosting and streaming platform, needed a better way to manage its rapidly growing analytics workload as it scaled to billions of requests and 900 billion rows of data. Its BigQuery setup had become expensive, hit concurrency limits, and made real-time video analytics harder to support for customers.

To solve this, Gumlet migrated to ClickHouse Cloud, using batch ingestion, S3 imports, and materialized views to rebuild its analytics pipeline for speed and efficiency. With ClickHouse, Gumlet gained fixed compute costs, faster ingestion, and real-time query performance at scale, including handling around 500 concurrent queries in just a few seconds and processing data in under two minutes.
