RX Global tests 2 search prototypes with Clicked to validate global search

RX Global, a large global events organizer, needed to validate the necessity of a global search function for its multi-country website platform. The challenge was that users primarily browsed event information, making search a last resort and creating difficulty in proving a clear user need for the feature. The vendor, Clicked, was hired to investigate this user requirement.

Clicked conducted user research, including remote moderated testing of two search journey prototypes alongside a user survey. The solution that emerged as most effective reflected the users' mental model for searching. To further validate the need, Clicked proposed a fake door test to measure actual user clicks on the proposed feature. The outcome was a clear, preferred prototype with an easy-to-scan search results page, though the definitive need for global search required further metric-driven investigation as recommended by Clicked.
