Rijkswaterstaat builds a real-time 4K, 120fps data landscape with CLEVER°FRANKE

CLEVER°FRANKE was approached by Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, to address a specific challenge. The client collects a vast amount of crucial environmental and infrastructure data, but this information lacked a compelling visual presence. To celebrate their 225th anniversary, Rijkswaterstaat tasked CLEVER°FRANKE with creating an installation to make this advanced data visible and engaging for visitors.

The solution implemented by CLEVER°FRANKE was an interactive digital installation featuring a large screen that visualizes the data as an animated 3D landscape, built using the Unity game engine for real-time rendering. This allowed visitors to interactively explore different data sets, such as water systems and roadways, making the invisible data tangible. The project successfully reinforced Rijkswaterstaat's leadership in data-driven governance and provided a flexible system that can integrate new data sources to remain dynamic and informative for years to come.
