Excelled Sheepskin & Leather Coat Corp., a New York–based apparel and outerwear manufacturer doing business with more than 120 trading partners (including Macy’s, Kohl’s, J.C. Penney and Cabela’s), needed to replace its VAN dialer (IBM Expedite) with an automated, real‑time solution. The company faced strict 48‑hour ship mandates and high B2B volume—Magento XML orders via SFTP into Oracle and hundreds of thousands of AS2 transactions—so Excelled sought a way to eliminate manual intervention, speed order processing, and increase reliability. Cleo (Cleo Integration Cloud) was chosen to meet those needs.

Cleo implemented Cleo Integration Cloud with direct AS2 connectivity for key partners and OpenText VAN support for the rest, plus scripting, scheduling and Oracle integration to validate orders before transfer. The result: files are processed in real time rather than twice daily, manual steps were removed, and Excelled now handles hundreds of thousands of files a year (including about 50,000 files during Black Friday weekend) while maintaining 48‑hour shipping compliance and avoiding significant lost revenue. Cleo’s platform provided the stability and automation that let Excelled expand EDI processes and move more partners to AS2.
