Prairie Farms Dairy, a 900‑farm cooperative based in Edwardsville, Illinois, needed a managed file transfer (MFT) solution to support trading partners requiring AS2 plus other protocols but lacked in‑house expertise for software installation, hardware, networking, and a redundant implementation. Already familiar with Cleo, Prairie Farms evaluated and chose Cleo Integration Cloud’s MFT and managed services after learning about the cloud offering at a Cleo Connect event.

Prairie Farms implemented Cleo Integration Cloud as an MFT‑as‑a‑service with Cleo’s managed services team handling partner onboarding, protocol support (e.g., SFTP), and monitoring while retaining Cleo EEI on its IBM iSeries for EDI translation. Cleo’s solution eliminated the need for new hardware or extensive internal maintenance, sped partner configurations, and materially reduced network exposure—cutting firewall allowances from 85 to 0 so Prairie Farms now connects only via its IBM iSeries to the Cleo cloud.
