Purolator, a leading Canadian integrated freight, package, and logistics provider, faced growing pain from an aging EDI platform—rising maintenance, scarce EDI expertise, and the need to support API-based integrations, better visibility, faster onboarding, and greater scalability. In 2017 the company selected Cleo and its Cleo Integration Cloud (CIC) as the vendor/product to modernize its ecosystem and meet evolving customer SLAs.
Cleo implemented CIC beginning with a rapid proof of concept and then consolidated Purolator’s EDI and API traffic onto the platform, giving teams near‑real‑time visibility via the CIC Cockpit and simplifying operations across courier and freight lines. The results include committing to shipment-status updates every 15 minutes (down from over an hour), virtually instantaneous API updates, and platform scale of 850M+ transactions per year (about 2M per day and ~40K every 15 minutes), accelerating onboarding and revenue flow for Purolator.
