Case Study: Dealer Information Systems Ltd. achieves GM ebXML compliance with Cleo VLTrader

A Cleo Case Study

Preview of the Dealer Information Systems, Ltd. Case Study

Automotive solutions provider partners with Cleo to meet GM ebXML mandate

Dealer Information Systems, Ltd., a DMS provider serving more than 3,000 dealers across six countries and processing hundreds of files daily, faced a mandate from General Motors to move communications to the ebXML protocol and TLS 2.0. DIS lacked a client that supported ebXML 2.0 and needed content-aware routing to distinguish dealer-specific versus generic warranty codes to ensure files reached the correct dealerships.

DIS upgraded its legacy Cleo installation to Cleo VLTrader in an in-place import that was installed and running in about three hours, without a database upgrade, meeting GM’s ebXML and TLS 2.0 requirements and avoiding bespoke scripting. The Cleo upgrade kept data flowing (the old system was turned off the next day), restored vendor-supported functionality, expanded future connectivity options, and eliminated transaction disruptions for its GM trading partner.
