Two Law Enforcement Agencies Solve a Murder and Attempted Murder

The Miami Police Department faced the challenge of identifying a suspect and an accomplice involved in an attempted murder at a gas station, unaware that the case was connected to a separate murder being investigated by a neighboring agency. Using Clearview AI's platform, which searches a database of over three billion images, the Miami Police Department instantly identified a top match for the accomplice from a prior arrest record. This lead connected the two crimes, revealing the gas station shooter had subsequently killed his accomplice. The solution enabled the department to obtain an arrest warrant, leading to the suspect's capture and extradition. This was one of approximately 300 times Miami PD used Clearview AI in 2020, demonstrating its impact in accelerating investigations and enhancing public safety.
