Sunshine Coast Regional Council Prepares for Changing IT Landscape with Critical Information Protection

Sunshine Coast Council, a large Australian local government authority formed through the amalgamation of three councils, needed to unify multiple IT networks and security policies while protecting citizens, staff, and critical information. As the Council’s environment evolved with increasing cyber threats, mobile devices, and changing infrastructure, it needed a robust web and email filtering approach that could deliver consistent security and value.

Clearswift implemented its SECURE Email Gateway and SECURE Web Gateway across the Council’s network, providing centralized management, deep content inspection, advanced malware detection, and data loss prevention. After a pilot of an alternative solution failed to meet security requirements, Sunshine Coast Council reverted to Clearswift and saw an immediate improvement in protection; the Council is now also considering Clearswift’s Critical Information Protection Management Server and Agent to extend endpoint security for mobile workers.
