Partners HealthCare, through its Enterprise Research Infrastructure and Services (ERIS) group, needed a secure, compliant, and easily accessible storage environment for researchers working with highly regulated health data. As demands grew for stronger access controls, auditing, backup, and high availability, ERIS looked to ClearSky Data and its cloud-storage-as-a-service platform to better support both on-premises and hybrid cloud storage needs.

ClearSky Data implemented a managed hybrid storage service that provided fast local cache storage in Partners’ data center while replicating data to ClearSky’s Boston data center for off-site backup and disaster recovery. The solution reduced Partners’ on-premises storage footprint, improved performance, and added more automated security, privacy, and resilience capabilities. It also gave research groups a compliance-ready option for contracts with stricter security requirements, helping Partners stay focused on research support and gain a competitive advantage.
