Using Clearsense 20/20 to Predict Renal Failure

Meharry Medical College, a predominantly Black college based in Nashville, Tennessee, partnered with Clearsense to better understand and address renal failure disparities in underserved populations. Using Clearsense 20/20, the school set out to uncover data patterns that could improve health equity, identify at-risk groups, and explore more effective testing and mitigation strategies.

Clearsense analyzed datasets with IrisPro and the 20/20 platform to build models focused on coverage and precision, while using auto-segmentation to surface key risk behaviors and subgroups. The work helped identify the best lab test for chronic kidney disease prediction without misclassification, showed that a subgroup representing 14% of the population accounted for 87% of renal failures, and found that 50% of that subgroup could be positively identified with only two tests.
