San Jose Water Company Expedites New Feature Delivery with DevOps Help from ClearScale on AWS

San Jose Water Company, an investor-owned public utility serving over 1 million people in the greater San Jose area, needed to move beyond its Rackspace datacenter as its web infrastructure requirements outgrew existing capabilities. The company wanted to reduce outages, improve availability and recoverability, automate infrastructure, and speed delivery of new application features with less IT overhead.

San Jose Water Company partnered with ClearScale to design and implement an AWS-based cloud-native environment using containerized PHP and Tomcat applications, CloudFormation, Jenkins, Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, RDS, and other AWS services. ClearScale’s work improved deployment repeatability, reduced reliance on development resources, lowered IT management overhead, and created a scalable, highly available architecture with no single points of failure.
