QMI Manufacturing Leverages the Power of IoT for its Seismic Sensor Network with Help from ClearScale

QMI Manufacturing Inc. asked ClearScale to help build an earthquake sensor software product that could connect a distributed seismic sensor network, manage devices and groups through a common web interface, and run on AWS. The goal was to aggregate sensor data from devices placed around the Vancouver area so the company could detect patterns, map earthquake activity, and support early warning for seismic events.

ClearScale designed and built an AWS-based IoT solution using services including AWS IoT, Lambda, EC2, IoT Shadow, SNS, and Cognito, along with a web management portal for device, user, and rule management. The system supports device grouping, real-time statistics, alarm rules, notifications by SMS and email, and automatic device registration, giving QMI Manufacturing a centralized way to manage its sensor network and analyze data efficiently.
