MobSoc Media runs a publishing network with more than 57 responsive media sites across entertainment, sports, lifestyle, and business and technology. As its audience and product set grew, the company found that Joyent no longer fit its needs for hosting applications, batch systems, core APIs, and content websites, and it needed more managed services and cloud capabilities to support its Social Rank platform.

ClearScale audited the existing environment, designed a new AWS architecture, and migrated the deployment while automating server setup and configuration with Chef. The work included new WordPress deployments, a re-architected batch processing system using Gearman, and monitoring with Zabbix; MobSoc now runs its production, staging, and development environments on AWS, with faster indexing, optimized job processing, and a deployment that is more scalable than the one on Joyent.
