iPromote migrates 15 TB to AWS Aurora with ClearScale

iPromote, a digital advertising technology provider, faced significant challenges with its legacy Microsoft SQL Server environment, including high licensing costs, performance bottlenecks, and an inability to scale. To overcome this, iPromote partnered with ClearScale to migrate its systems to AWS and adopt a modern, cloud-based architecture.

ClearScale re-architected iPromote's platform by migrating 15 TB of data to AWS Aurora PostgreSQL and building a data lake on Amazon S3. The solution involved refactoring hundreds of stored procedures and modernizing their .NET applications. As a result, iPromote eliminated SQL Server licensing fees, reduced its database size by half, and achieved a scalable foundation for future growth, all accomplished with a smooth production deployment.
