Deep Automation Helps Coupa Scale Globally

Coupa Software, a provider of procurement and cloud spend management applications, was running its SaaS platform across multiple AWS regions and Availability Zones. As it looked to increase the velocity of new feature delivery, improve service availability, and reduce deployment times, it partnered with ClearScale to strengthen cloud automation and infrastructure capabilities.

ClearScale worked with Coupa Software on high availability, Chef automation, and deployment optimization, including GlusterFS replication, redundant Chef infrastructure, and dynamic monitoring setup. The work also refactored provisioning to use direct Amazon API calls, which delivered a 10x speed increase for launching deployments and reduced EBS volume provisioning from 6 minutes to 50 seconds.
