Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), a large San Francisco-based utility, needed to replace its slow, spreadsheet-based business performance reporting process. Its monthly reporting took about a month to assemble, suffered from version control and formatting issues, and made it difficult for leaders to quickly view, compare, and drill into performance data. PG&E turned to ClearPoint Strategy and its web-based performance reporting platform to create a more efficient, secure, and flexible reporting system.

ClearPoint Strategy worked with PG&E to customize the application with company branding, period comparisons, forecasts, and role-based permissions, while also supporting stronger governance around metrics and data lock-downs. The new system was implemented in one quarter, and the technology rollout was completed in about three months. As a result, PG&E shifted from spending 100% of its time producing reports to focusing most of its effort on value-add analysis, insights, and trend identification, with greater trust in the data and more focused monthly performance meetings.
