LSU College of Engineering faced a gap between its ambitious five-year plan, Vision 2015, and the ability to measure and manage progress: the initial tracking platform was cumbersome, had a steep learning curve, and failed to generate stakeholder buy-in. Senior Director Heather Herman selected ClearPoint Strategy for its simplicity and customer service to replace the prior system and give users a clearer, more personal connection to the College’s strategic goals.
ClearPoint Strategy implemented an easy-to-use performance management platform that visualized department- and unit-level results, introduced simple red-amber-green status indicators, and enabled data-driven experimentation (for example, correlating retention initiatives with outcomes). That alignment and engagement produced measurable impact: total enrollment rose 41% (making the College the fifth fastest-growing engineering school in the U.S.), about 85% of students have jobs or offers at graduation, patents awarded doubled in one year, and the College raised $52 million in 11 months; external partnerships such as IBM’s Baton Rouge venture also expanded.
