A ClearPoint Strategy Case Study
The City of Fort Collins, a Colorado municipality serving about 165,000 residents, faced an overabundance of performance data that made executive reviews long and unfocused. To streamline review materials and provide consistent pre-reading, the City leveraged ClearPoint Strategy’s reporting platform and ClearPoint reports to present charts, data, evaluations and analysis for leadership and department heads.
ClearPoint Strategy helped Fort Collins redesign meetings into focused Quarterly Service Area Reviews and monthly “Strategy Maps” that center on Outcomes, linked objectives, a few key metrics, and funded initiatives. Departments pared hundreds of metrics down to 3–5 primary measures (reducing the review set from over 400 to under 200), used two ClearPoint reports as pre-reading, and shifted discussions to 40–50 minute outcome-focused sessions. The result: clearer accountability, steady progress with fewer initiative status slips, tighter budget-to-performance links, and stronger organizational alignment with the City’s strategic plan.
