City of Charlottesville - Customer Case Study

The City of Charlottesville, VA (population ~50,000) needed a way to systematize and sustain a P3-based performance management process that started in 2008. To execute on that vision, the City partnered with ClearPoint Strategy in 2010 to adopt the ClearPoint performance management software and to support leaders like Assistant City Manager Leslie Beauregard in rolling out a city-wide approach to strategic planning and reporting.

ClearPoint Strategy implemented the ClearPoint platform alongside a package of user supports — regular basic trainings, annual advanced trainings, focused "open labs," a ClearPoint email distribution list (clearpoint@charlottesville.org), and an internal strategic plan and reporting guide/storyboard — to build competence and transparency. As a result, Charlottesville expanded its culture of performance management into a City-wide strategic plan, improved user engagement and reporting consistency, and established an ongoing advisory team to drive continuous improvement with ClearPoint Strategy.
