Talking Stick Resort creates a 40ft anamorphic lobby experience with Clearhead

Talking Stick Resort, a resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, wanted to transform its lobby by converting a 40-foot diameter ceiling into an impressive screen to excite visitors and reflect local culture. They faced the unique challenge of creating a 3D anamorphic experience on a ceiling, a technique that was mostly theoretical for this application. The resort partnered with OpenEye Global, who in turn enlisted Clearhead to pioneer a solution that respected Native American culture and achieved a high-quality, awe-inspiring result.

Clearhead developed a solution using a combination of 2.5D compositing and 3D rendering, creating nine seamless looping videos for a playlist that changed with the time of year. Since physical access to the site was impossible during development, they utilized VR and hand-developed mock-ups to perfect the technique. The final videos, which included a hero piece of the local landscape, holiday themes, and sporting events, delighted the client and successfully created a share-worthy experience for visitors. The vendor, Clearhead, was praised by their client for their fantastic collaboration on the brilliant, pioneering project.
