The Village of Pinehurst, NC partnered with ClearGov to make its financial data easier for the public to understand and to meet North Carolina’s municipal transparency requirements. Before ClearGov, the village published financial data only once a year in a non-interactive format, making it hard for residents to view trends or compare results over time.
Using ClearGov Transparency, Pinehurst uploaded seven years of line-item revenue and expenditure data and built a custom peer group for department-level comparisons with similar cities. The result has been a more user-friendly, interactive transparency center that has received positive public feedback, supports clearer financial communication, and is expected to reduce public information requests and save staff time and resources.
