The Village of Lemont partnered with ClearGov to make its fiscal information easier for residents to understand. Facing revenue shortfalls and the need to explain growing budget pressures around capital projects and core services, the Village needed a clearer way to present dense financial data than its lengthy online budget books.
ClearGov implemented its Transparency Center, giving Lemont residents and staff an easy-to-read visual snapshot of revenues, expenditures, demographics, and peer community comparisons directly on the Village website. The new platform helps taxpayers quickly understand where their money is going and supports decision-making around the non-home rule sales tax referendum; internally, officials are also using data such as per-capita expenditures and building permit trends to track performance and inform planning.
