Vicksburg - Customer Case Study

Vicksburg, Michigan, a small village of just under 4,000 residents, was struggling to rebuild public trust after years of economic decline and financial mismanagement. After the loss of its paper mill and a later scandal involving a village manager, residents had become deeply skeptical of local government. Vicksburg turned to ClearGov’s Transparency solution to help address the challenge of making village finances clear, accessible, and easier for the public to understand.

ClearGov worked with Vicksburg to launch a transparency center using a simple ERP data export, giving residents easy access to detailed financial information. The village promoted the site heavily, and the results were strong: trust began to rise, public feedback became more positive, and difficult inquiries dropped off. Vicksburg later expanded its use of ClearGov to include capital projects and department dashboards, with Open Checkbook next on the roadmap.
